12 - 14 September 2025

After an amazing breakfast in the Gothic Quarter, Barcelona, we took a walk up to the impressive Plaza de Cataluña where there was a little rain in the air.

The afternoon saw us ambling down La Rambla but as the rain increasing with intensity we ducked into the Mercado de la Boqueria. This market was full of people and the vibrant food stalls were inviting. There was a huge choice from every corner. It was a delight to visit and a sensory experience I’ve not experienced in years.

As we left the mercado and headed back to La Rambla the rain started again but heavy this time with thunder and lightning as an added bonus. We decided to take shelter in the Plaza Real with a cool glass of beer but ready with the cameras nevertheless.

Enjoy some of the photos from the Plaza Real in the rain…

And this was only part of the second day spent in this incredible city. There will be more stories and photos to come in the next blog post.
