Introduction
Geneva often feels suspended between movement and instruction.
Photographing with the Leica M11 Monochrom paired with the 35mm Summilux, I found myself drawn less toward decisive moments and more toward quiet traces of human presence inside ordered space. People emerging briefly through glass, escalators and reflected light before disappearing again into architecture designed for efficiency rather than emotion.
The city moves carefully, almost silently, shaped by systems that remain largely invisible to the people passing through them.

Rather than trying to impose atmosphere onto Geneva, I wanted to photograph the city as it revealed itself naturally. Cold light beneath stations with figures reduced by surrounding geometry. Reflections fragmenting people into overlapping layers with small interruptions inside environments built to organise movement and direction.
The photographs slowly became less about documenting events and more about observing what’s presented to me emotionally.

Corridors and roads suggested movement without destination. Escalators descended and ascended into artificial light. Certain spaces felt strangely theatrical, as though waiting for something undefined to happen inside them. Even moments of stillness carried a sense of quiet surveillance.

And yet the smallest gestures remained the most human. A dog pulling gently against its leash. Someone crossing through light without urgency. Brief moments where instinct and individuality interrupted the rigid order surrounding them.

Perhaps that tension became the real subject of the work. Fragile human presence moving continuously through systems too large to acknowledge it.

Geneva remains calm on the surface. But beneath the glass, signage and concrete, life continues in quieter and less predictable ways.
